Colours!

Hey guys!

In my last post I told you I wanted to work with colours more often and well, I did! It was a bit uncomfortable at first, but I think it was really nice to do and I'm really excited to show you the result!

Like I said, it was a bit unconfortable to work with colours, so I decided to only colour a little part of the first drawing.

I really liked working with coloured fineliners and I wanted to do more! As always (okay, not always, but really often) I searched for some inspiration on instagram and I found a beautiful picture of a peacock (if you're reading this, thank you Leah!) which I really wanted to draw! There were so many colours and it was really hard and took a lot of time, but I am so pleased with the result!

Well, after this drawing I was a little bit tired of all the dots... So I decided to do something I really enjoyed as a little kid: watercolour! I'm definitely not as good with paint as with fineliners, but I really enjoy doing it.
This is a painting of the album cover for the album Oceanborn by Nightwish. It's not exactly alike, but I'm happy with the result. I chose this, because I really like the way things are shown and when you look a little longer than a few seconds, you start to discover more and more things in the artwork of this album, and not only  this one, but probably all the covers of Nightwish albums. I think they really show what kind of music Nightwish makes. But anyway, here is my painting!

What do you think of my new drawings/painting? And do you have any advice for me? I'd really like to know your opinion!
What are you doing in your holiday?

Freak out!

Mood swings.
I think everyone, especially teenagers, know them. One moment you're completely okay and then, out of the sudden, you're all sad and moody and don't want to do anything.
Well, today was exactly the opposite. I was really moody, because I was late for school and I studied 'for nothing', but in the afternoon I suddenly became happy. The weather was so nice and I just wanted to jump and scream and run around, but I also wanted to do something creative. That turned out like this:

I made this spotify playlist with happy music and then I started. Nothing organized, just putting random things on some canvas and don't think about it! I did everything in the garden, while wearing two sweaters and a scarf :)

The meaning of this is that you just have to freak out sometimes. For some people that means getting completely wasted in a club with loud dance music and for some people it's just having a little playbackshow in their garden while painting :)

How did you guys enjoy this good weather?

Piece Of Wood

Hey guys!
Today I woke up with the feeling that everything was great and beautiful (50 shades of being a teenager: loving everything or hating everything) and I wanted to do something with that. I wanted to create! When my mom went out for lunch I started looking what I could use and found a piece of wood. Perfect!

I put on some music (my 28 hour during playlist, yay) and started....

While I was painting, I started to think about the meaning. I decided it would represent a person with all their different sides. Cute sides, dark sides, happy sides. Mom just thinks it's a beautiful piece of wood and that's okay too :).

Since it was lunchtime, I took a little break :)

Painting selfie!

Worked with a lot of different colours.

Here is the result!

Inspired by my piece of wood, I started to paint my phone. But it didn't last for long :( So I did it again with some nailpolish, including topcoat, and now it's all shiny. I still like it, it's more me than only black.

What do you think of the wood and phone? Oh, and merry christmas everyone!

Exposition

Hi guys!
Today I had an exposition with school. Where? Well, in a retirement. And that caused some problems...

We needed to paint ourselves. Not like how we're looking now, but how we thought we'd look when we're 80.
You know, that was a bit scary. I know I'm getting older every day, but 80... That's pretty old!
I worked on it for weeks and this is the result!

I know, I'm scary! Those staring eyes, brr!

But there was another assigment. To make everything a little less old, we needed to draw or paint a big sillhouette. ''A young, strong and powerful person''. I don't know why, but I thought of an angel. And here comes the problem.

When I think of an angel, I don't think about those cute blonde girls (the mainstream angels). I think about black. And that's something eldery don't like.

Okay, I'll admit it, she's a bit scary. But I'm still mad my angel isn't allowed to be with her friends in the retirement. She's still in our art class :(

But there will be another exposition and there you can all see my angel in real life :)
If you want to see my and other's paintings, they're in retirment Croonematen in Doetinchem at the moment.

Painting: Nada

This weekend I decided to paint my friend Nada. Here you can see her in her halloween outfit:

I really like her hair and make-up here. I don't paint much, but I thought this hair would be prettier if I used paint.

I've made Nada before, as you can see here. She used to have blue hair (now it's black) and that was so cool :) The lyrics are from the song Fallen Angels by Black Veil Brides
