I tried some painting :)

Hi guys!

You may remember my last post, you know, when I talked about how bored I was. Well, that's actually the reason for blogging again...

I've always prefered drawing over painting, but my art teacher doesn't agree with me, so recently I started painting again. I think it's really hard, but I'm getting more and more pleased with the result, so I'd like to show you some of my work.

Well, this was my first try. I thought faces where easy things to paint, but they're certainly not.

That's why I tried something else. I'm     kind of happy with this tree, because I        like how the colours worked out.

I usually don't post school projects, but I finished this one today and I'm pretty pleased about it :). It was a lot of work and I used so many different colours, but it was very fun to do and I do like the result.

So yeah, I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you have any advice for me, please tell me :).

Things I do when I should be studying

Hey guys!

It's been way too long since I've posted something on here. I've been really busy with school and I also don't really like the stuff I've made lately.

Today I'm not going to show you drawings and stuff, but just some DIY's I did today because I really felt like doing that instead of studying for my economics test.

I hope you'll enjoy it!

The first thing I made was the cutie. I just tied the ribbon around a bobbypin and that's it! I think it's super duper cute and I love the romantic look!

For the second DIY I used this beautiful ribbon I bought last summer, but forgot about. This is also something for my hair. I use it to wrap around my bun.

Last thing for my hair: a fillet!

Last but not least, a necklace! I already post something about scarab beetles before, but I found this beetle today and I thought it was to pretty to be in a random drawer, so I used it for this necklace.

I hope you enjoyed reading this and that my English wasn't too bad...

Until next time (hopefully there will be a smaller gap between my post than between this one and the one before).

Chestnut art

Hey guys!

I had a day off today and after I finished my homework I was really tired and didn't feel like doing anything. I knew I'd regret it later if I wouldn't do anything with my free day, so I left home for a short walk through the neighbourhood. I found an almost flat chestnut and really like its shape and shine, so I took it home.
I really didn't know what to do with the chestnut. I looked in a magazine my mom got yesterday when she bought something at the store Ici Paris XL when I saw an advertisment from J'adore Dior. I think you've all seen this bottle more than once. I think it's beautifully designed, but if you look at the cap, what do you see? I see... A chestnut!

I put my chestnut on the picture and I really liked the look. While I was reading more and more of the magazine, I saw some pics that I really liked, especially with a chestnut on it. I cut them out of the magazine and here's the result.

-Dior-

-M&M-

-Dolce & Gabbana-

-Allerhande-

-Clinique-

-Arla-

-Beauty/Ici Paris XL-

-Thierry Mugler-

-Allerhande- This is the picture I like the most and I made this out of it with the site www.picmonkey.com

I'm not a really good photographer, but I hope you like it!

Random things

Hey guys!

It's been one and a half months since I last posted something here and in the meantime I made a lot of random things that have nothing to do with eachother, so this post just doesn't have a theme, sorry!

Anyway, I'm just gonna show you what I did.

A quick sketch I made when I was at my dad's house. It was impossible to explain to my little brother why I wasn't colouring exactly between the lines when he learnt at school that he had to do that!

This drawing is inspired by my stepsister (wow, that sounds weird. Anyway, the daughter of my mom's boyfriend), because she really likes butterflies and coca cola, so I made this out of it.

\
I made this sketch when I was on a holiday to Italy. I drew for 7 hours straight, with a few stops to pee, drink and eat. I'm really curious if you can find the meaning of this drawing. If you think you know it, please tell me!

This was my drawing for a Disney back to school contest on instagram. I must say that I've never heard the result, but I got 133 likes (that's around 110 more than I usually get), so I'm still happy with it!

I made these too yesterday (I have project week this week, so a lot of free time :))

And last but not least, two drawings I lost. One was for my bodypump teacher, because she left :( And the other one... I seriously don't know where it is. Mom?

Have a nice day!

Colours!

Hey guys!

In my last post I told you I wanted to work with colours more often and well, I did! It was a bit uncomfortable at first, but I think it was really nice to do and I'm really excited to show you the result!

Like I said, it was a bit unconfortable to work with colours, so I decided to only colour a little part of the first drawing.

I really liked working with coloured fineliners and I wanted to do more! As always (okay, not always, but really often) I searched for some inspiration on instagram and I found a beautiful picture of a peacock (if you're reading this, thank you Leah!) which I really wanted to draw! There were so many colours and it was really hard and took a lot of time, but I am so pleased with the result!

Well, after this drawing I was a little bit tired of all the dots... So I decided to do something I really enjoyed as a little kid: watercolour! I'm definitely not as good with paint as with fineliners, but I really enjoy doing it.
This is a painting of the album cover for the album Oceanborn by Nightwish. It's not exactly alike, but I'm happy with the result. I chose this, because I really like the way things are shown and when you look a little longer than a few seconds, you start to discover more and more things in the artwork of this album, and not only  this one, but probably all the covers of Nightwish albums. I think they really show what kind of music Nightwish makes. But anyway, here is my painting!

What do you think of my new drawings/painting? And do you have any advice for me? I'd really like to know your opinion!
What are you doing in your holiday?

Dots, dots and... more dots

Hey guys! Long time no see!

And yes, there is a reason for the fact that I didn't post in such a long time. I've been really busy with... Dots.
I believe I've already written about the gorgeous Hannah Snowdon in a blogpost before (read that post here) and I told you about how much she inspired me. Well, she still does, together with some other awesome tattoo-artists like Grace Neutral (follow her on instagram: @graceneutral).
As you may know, these artists use a lot of dots in their work and I wanted to try that too. Inspired by an episode of Game of Thrones I drew this dragon around a month ago.

It took me a really long time, but I was so happy with the result that I wanted to try more... So I decided to draw this dog. Isn't she a cutie? (By the way, you can also follow this dog on instagram: @fiinathebeagle. She just got puppies, so there is an overload of cuteness which you don't want to miss!)

I also thought it would be nice to show you how I make these drawings, so I took some pictures while drawing the two dogs of my stepsister.

Before I used fineliners, I had drawn the dogs with pencils, to be sure that the shape was good before I couldn't erase it anymore.

Then I lined the main lines of the dogs.

When you work with dots, you have to make clear for yourself where you have to put them. That's why I used dottish lines to mark different areas. While I was drawing, there came more and more lines and areas.

When the right dog was finished, I started with the left one. You can see how I used the lines/areas on the picture below.

Then I started with the couch.

It was a gift for my stepsister's birthday, so mom put it in a frame.

Drawing with dots needs a lot of time and patience (I worked on that dogs for more then ten hours), but I think that's really worth it!
I also bought some coloured fineliners and I can't wait to show you how that turned out!

Would you guys like to work with dots someday?

Fineliner drawings

Hey guys!

Sorry for not posting for so long. I was a bit busy and I didn't really have drawings to show, though I've drawn much in the past weeks.
Well, a few months ago I bought some black fineliners and I fell in love with them the first time I used them. Those things are so nice to draw with! Today I want to show you some of my fineliner drawings. Let's start!

This is the first one I made, just to try them out.

Tried to put as much human things as possible in this drawing.

Life of a teenager.

On of my favourite quotes. (Translation: It's a beautiful thing when you fall for a personality, but if you can choose for falling for a personality with our without boobs, you would know it, right?)

And last but not least two coloured drawings with some fineliner.

What are your favourite materials to colour/draw with?
